After the half-yearly congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) in Belek, Turkey, all World Cup appearances of the Austrian national ice hockey teams in 2023 have been confirmed. Austria’s U20 men’s ice hockey national team will start the tournament at the World Cup in Canada in 2022 but will herald an exciting ice hockey year for the ÖEHV after Christmas at the turn of the year.
After the 2023 IIHF, World Junior Championship in Canada with the venues Halifax and Moncton, where Austria’s U20 men’s ice hockey national team fights to stay up in the league, Austria’s U18 women’s ice hockey national team is in action at the U18 World Championship Divison IA in Ritten near Bozen.
Austria’s U18 men’s ice hockey national team will compete in the U18 World Championship Division IB in Bled, Slovenia, in mid-April. Immediately afterward, Austria’s national women’s ice hockey team in Shenzhen (China) will have the “mission to advance” to the top division at the World Championship Division IA.
The final highlight of the season is the A World Championships in Finland in May, where Austria’s national men’s ice hockey team plays in Group A in Tampere.
